Requirements for a great
Star Trek episode/movie:

1. Space Action
Spaced-themed adventure. Battles and discoveries on board a starship or an alien planet.

2. Utopian Future
A Bright Utopian Future – Even though times or situations depicted in a good Star Trek episode may appear dark and hopeless, being a part of the command structure of the United Federation of Planets and the hope for humanity make you want to be there and be a part of it.

3. Familiar Characters
Familiar characters you know as family members and interact like a family. Characters that interact with each other (good or bad) like members of a family. And having characters that the viewers are familiar with and are not altered without a good explanation.

4. Cinematic
Live action instead of animation.

There is no Star Trek after 2005.
